The duties and functions of Marinduque Provincial Tourism Development Council are:
- Recommend priority programs, projects and activities for inclusion in the province's annual investment plan and local development and investment plan.
- Provide technical assistance in the preparation of the tourism development plan of the province.
- Recommend the outsourcing of the preparation of the tourism development plan.
- Facilitate resource generation and tap assistance for the national government agencies and private sectors for tourism activities.
- Initiate/coordinate/facilitate the promotion and advocacy on sustainable tourism development thrust and programs of the province such as ecotourism, farm tourism, green tourism, sport tourism and adventure tourism.
- Extend assistance in the identification, coordination and implementation of year-round tourism events and programs to be conducted in and participated by the province.
- Extend assistance to all tourism-related establishments, and;
- Tap tri-media for the promotion and awareness of program activities.
